West Ham United Statement: Sporting Lisbon
West Ham United Statement: Sporting Lisbon

West Ham and Sporting Clube de Portugal acknowledge that a breakdown in communication based in contacts between representatives from both Clubs in respect of a possible transfer of William Carvalho was the cause of a misunderstanding.

Subsequent to this, the Clubs have had positive communications and the matter is now resolved. On this basis, friendly relations between the Clubs will resume and there will be no barriers to both Clubs negotiating or working together in the future.

It's the player that may need placating.

From the placatory statements made by both clubs it’s almost as if the path is being cleared for a transfer in the near future.

Since the start of the real West Ham fans action group our board have behaved like someone running around trying to hide the evidence of a murder.

Ag ag ag! It is so...

To think that this whole embarrassing episode happened down to our cheapskate wanker lying board pretending to mount a huge offer for Carvalho when there was no way that they'd ever cough-up the dosh that Sporting Lisbon were after.

I'm so fucking sick and tired of those fucking brain-dead clowns running our club.

Sporting are playing tonight at Camp Nou depending on their and Juve's result at Olympiakos they will still be in the CL or parachuted into the also rans European cup.

Carvalho is playing and will Sporting be willing to sell if they qualify for the CL?

The update states that Sporting have also agreed not to refer to Sullivan as a dildo wielding midget with his head up his arse.
More than once in each further communication.

I’d be amazed if Carvalho fancies coming to a team in the bottom 3. Imagine he would hold on and weigh up his options after the World Cup.

Noble has never been better than when playing more in attack with Tevez and Payet. His career has suffered a lot where he's been put mostly in a holding midfield role and playing mostly with players that can't pass water, let alone a football.

Good...hopefully this means that Carvalho will sign for us in January.

Christ, we need a defender midfielder to just sit in front win the ball and give it...I couldn't care less if he doesn't have pace just sit there and break things up and give it - we have nobody at the moment - Obiang and Kouyate do their best but it's not their main strength. As for Noble...well we all know that has never been his position - he just fell into it!

I know a guy who is a ST holder at Sporting,

Reckons the bloke who went to Leicester is better..

Just strikes me of further PR ineptitude brought on by small man syndrome. All they've done is create an expectation that we'll sign the bloke. They are the absolute masters of over promise, under deliver which in virtually any walk of life is an idiotic way of going about things.

A player we desperately need in January. But we know Diddy Dave would rather spunk £30 million on Walcott. Best if we all move on.

The Portuguese statement reads very much as a statement of intent. Has Carvalho sustained a life-threatening phantom injury?

Sorry but to me, this just shows the two-bob club we are, or at least how we are run, that we have to make a statement about this.

Sporting have also issued a statement, are they also two-bob?

Then you're not looking. They've released the same statement - posted below more than once.

The best thing about this all was Sullivan revealing those email he supposedly sent. Nice one Sullers.

Why bother? Resolve the issue in private and move on, or renegotiate the original deal. Whatever, but don't splash it all over the official website. Isn't that what caused all this issues in the first place? Why does it matter to anyone else that we've made up with Sporting? Anyone outside of West Ham has forgotten about it anyway.

I don't see Sporting making a big song and dance about it.

Re: West Ham United Statement: Sporting Lisbon
Sounds like UEFA have told both clubs they've acted like childish cunts and made them shake hands and apologise, like a weary parent.

As it's become patently clear that we desperately need Carvalho or a similar player, I hope this is a move toward opening talks.

They must now more than ever realise they need to spend money or we're going down. Maybe a loan with a view to buying IF we don't get relegated? That way he gets his move and some shop window, Sporting will definitely be able to sell him to someone, and we get the player we want.
